We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. The Dishwasher will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dishwashing area and ensuring timely cleaning of dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Responsibilities: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment, including dishwashers, sinks, and sanitizing stations, to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. Sort and organize dirty dishes, trays, and utensils, removing food residue, debris, and grease before loading them into the dishwasher. Load and unload dish racks and trays from the dishwasher, ensuring proper arrangement and spacing to maximize cleaning efficiency and prevent breakage. Monitor dishwashing cycles, water temperatures, and chemical sanitizer levels to ensure effective cleaning and sanitization of dishes according to health and safety regulations. Inspect cleaned dishes and utensils for cleanliness, spots, and residue, and rewash items as needed to meet quality standards. Empty and clean dishwasher filters, traps, and drains regularly to prevent clogs and maintain optimal performance of dishwashing equipment. Dispose of food waste, garbage, and recycling materials properly, following waste management guidelines and sanitation procedures. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, sinks, and floors in the dishwashing area regularly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables, washing produce, and portioning ingredients, as needed during peak hours. Follow safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and health regulations in handling cleaning chemicals, operating equipment, and maintaining personal hygiene. Communicate effectively with kitchen supervisors, chefs, and other team members to coordinate dishwashing activities, prioritize tasks, and address workflow issues. Adhere to work schedules, shift assignments, and break times, and report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to the kitchen manager or supervisor. Requirements: No formal education or previous experience required; on-the-job training provided. Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team, following instructions and collaborating with kitchen staff. Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities. Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate restaurant operations and busy periods. Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene, safety procedures, and sanitation practices preferred but not mandatory.
