We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chinese Cook to join our culinary team. The Chinese Cook will be responsible for preparing authentic Chinese dishes, maintaining food quality and hygiene standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, soups, stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, and specialty items, according to traditional recipes and culinary standards. Coordinate and collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus, estimate ingredient quantities, and ensure timely preparation and service of Chinese food items. Ensure freshness, quality, and consistency of food products by inspecting and selecting fresh ingredients, vegetables, meats, and seafood. Follow established cooking techniques, methods, and recipes to achieve desired taste, texture, and presentation of Chinese dishes, while adapting to customer preferences. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including woks, fryers, steamers, and cooking utensils, maintaining cleanliness and proper maintenance. Monitor cooking temperatures, cooking times, and portion sizes to prevent food wastage, minimize costs, and optimize food production. Taste and adjust seasoning, flavors, and sauces in dishes as needed to meet customer preferences and quality standards. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and sanitation standards in food handling, storage, and preparation areas. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including work surfaces, cooking equipment, storage areas, and utensils, following cleaning schedules and procedures. Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and groceries as needed to support Chinese food preparation activities. Train and supervise kitchen staff, including assistant cooks, helpers, and apprentices, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback on cooking techniques and food presentation. Collaborate with restaurant management and other team members to develop new Chinese dishes, special menus, and promotional offers to attract customers and enhance dining experiences. Requirements: Proven experience as a Chinese Cook or Chef, with at least [X years] of experience in preparing and cooking Chinese cuisine in a restaurant, hotel, or catering setting. In-depth knowledge of Chinese culinary techniques, ingredients, spices, and flavors, with the ability to prepare a wide range of traditional dishes. Proficiency in using kitchen equipment, utensils, and cooking techniques specific to Chinese cooking, such as wok cooking, steaming, and stir-frying. Strong understanding of food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and sanitation standards in commercial kitchens. Excellent taste, seasoning, and flavoring skills to create authentic Chinese dishes with optimal taste and aroma. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, prioritize tasks, and multitask effectively to meet service deadlines and customer demands. Team player with good communication skills and ability to collaborate with kitchen staff, servers, and management to achieve common goals.
