Job Title: Chip Level Technician Location: Kottayam, Kerala Job Description: As a Chip Level Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic devices at the component level, with a focus on laptops, desktops, smartphones, and other electronic gadgets. Working in Kottayam, you will play a critical role in troubleshooting complex hardware issues and performing precise repairs to ensure the functionality and reliability of electronic devices. Responsibilities: Diagnose hardware faults in electronic devices, including laptops, desktops, smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets, at the component level. Disassemble electronic devices to access internal components, using specialized tools and equipment as needed. Identify faulty components such as integrated circuits (ICs), capacitors, resistors, transistors, and connectors through visual inspection and testing. Repair or replace faulty components on electronic circuit boards using soldering irons, soldering stations, and other soldering equipment. Perform microsoldering and rework techniques to repair damaged traces, pads, or components on printed circuit boards (PCBs). Troubleshoot and repair complex hardware issues, including power-related problems, display issues, connectivity issues, and logic board failures. Test repaired electronic devices to verify proper functionality and ensure that all features and components are working correctly. Install and configure software applications, drivers, and firmware updates on repaired devices as needed. Document all repair activities, including diagnostic findings, repair procedures, and parts used, accurately and comprehensively. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling electronic components, soldering equipment, and hazardous materials. Requirements: Diploma or certification in electronics engineering, computer hardware, or a related field. Proven experience as a chip-level technician or electronics repair technician, with hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing electronic devices at the component level. Strong technical knowledge of electronic components, circuits, and soldering techniques. Proficiency in using soldering equipment, including soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and soldering stations. Familiarity with electronic diagnostic tools and equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving hardware issues. Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, diagrams, and datasheets. Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and procedures to non-technical individuals. Physical stamina and dexterity to handle delicate electronic components and perform precision soldering work. Willingness to stay updated on advancements in electronics technology and repair techniques through training and self-study.
