Job Title: Computer Hardware Technician Location: Kottayam, Kerala Job Description: As a Computer Hardware Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware and peripherals. Working in Kottayam, you will play a critical role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of computer systems for both residential and commercial clients. Responsibilities: Diagnose hardware and software problems, troubleshooting issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other computer peripherals. Perform hardware upgrades, installations, and replacements as necessary, including components such as RAM, hard drives, processors, and graphics cards. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on computer systems to identify and address potential issues before they escalate. Test and evaluate computer hardware and peripherals to ensure proper functioning and adherence to quality standards. Provide technical support and assistance to clients via phone, email, or in person, guiding them through troubleshooting steps and solutions. Document all hardware and software repairs, upgrades, and maintenance activities accurately and comprehensively. Keep abreast of advancements in computer hardware and software technologies, attending training sessions or workshops as needed. Collaborate with colleagues and senior technicians to resolve complex technical issues and share knowledge and expertise. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling sensitive electronic equipment and hazardous materials. Requirements: Diploma or certification in computer hardware, electronics, or a related field. Proven experience as a computer hardware technician or similar role, with hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing computer systems. Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware components, peripherals, and operating systems. Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic tools, including multimeters, diagnostic software, and hardware testing equipment. Familiarity with various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues. Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a customer-oriented approach to service delivery. Physical stamina and dexterity to handle equipment and perform repairs in various environments. Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed to meet client needs or project deadlines.
