As a Computer Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems for our clients Your primary goal will be to provide timely and effective technical support, install and configure computer systems and software, and maintain the overall functionality and security of IT infrastructure. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service orientation. Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance and support to clients experiencing hardware, software, or network issues, either remotely or on-site, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware problems, including desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and networking equipment, and perform repairs or replacements as needed. Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications, ensuring compatibility, security, and optimal performance. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, virus scans, and software patches, to ensure the security and reliability of computer systems and networks. Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with IT policies and security guidelines, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity. Provide training and technical guidance to end-users on how to use computer hardware, software, and applications effectively and efficiently. Document technical issues, resolutions, and procedures in a knowledge base or ticketing system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for future reference. Collaborate with IT team members and external vendors to resolve complex technical problems, escalate issues as needed, and coordinate system upgrades or replacements. Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT support and service delivery, continuously enhancing your technical skills and knowledge. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to IT security, data protection, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management, providing clear and timely updates on technical issues, resolutions, and project status. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance teamwork, collaboration, and technical proficiency. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, including equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Requirements: Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as a Computer Technician or in a similar technical support role, preferably in an IT services or helpdesk environment. Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications. Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network problems, using diagnostic tools, command-line utilities, and remote desktop support. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical users. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing technical tasks, documenting procedures, and maintaining records. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and respond to emergency support requests as needed.
