As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to keep our property in excellent condition.Your primary goal will be to identify and address maintenance issues promptly, minimize downtime, and uphold the safety, comfort, and functionality of our facilities for guests and employees. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance. Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning and longevity. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from hotel staff, guests, and management, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact on operations. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) issues, and perform repairs or replacements as needed. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on equipment and systems, identify potential problems or safety hazards, and take corrective actions to prevent breakdowns or accidents. Monitor building systems, such as fire alarm systems, elevators, and emergency lighting, and perform regular tests and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or manual logs. Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers for specialized repairs, installations, or maintenance services that cannot be performed in-house. Assist with renovation projects, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement initiatives, providing technical support and expertise as needed. Respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of regular working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to address critical issues and minimize disruptions to hotel operations. Uphold safety standards and protocols in all maintenance activities, including using personal protective equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and adhering to OSHA regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas, storage rooms, and workshops, ensuring that tools, equipment, and supplies are properly stored and maintained. Communicate effectively with hotel staff, guests, and management regarding maintenance issues, repairs, and project updates, providing clear and timely information. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in maintenance and facility management through training, workshops, and professional development opportunities. Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping, front office, and engineering, to address maintenance-related issues and support overall hotel operations. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to safety, security, and guest service, at all times. Requirements: Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality or facilities management industry. Technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment and components. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently or with minimal supervision. Familiarity with maintenance tools, equipment, and techniques, including hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic devices. Knowledge of safety protocols, regulations, and best practices related to maintenance activities, including working at heights, confined spaces, and hazardous materials. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, guests, and external vendors. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, and respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of regular hours. High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; technical certifications or vocational training in maintenance-related fields are a plus.
