As part of our team, we are seeking a skilled and attentive Tea Maker to prepare and serve our signature teas with precision and care. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests by providing prompt and courteous service and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the tea preparation area. Responsibilities: Prepare and serve a variety of teas, including black tea, green tea, herbal tea, and specialty blends, according to customer preferences and company standards. Ensure the freshness and quality of tea leaves, herbs, and other ingredients used in tea preparation, and maintain proper storage and inventory levels. Operate tea-making equipment, including tea kettles, tea infusers, tea pots, and brewing timers, with precision and attention to detail. Measure and portion tea leaves and other ingredients accurately, following established recipes and brewing guidelines to achieve desired flavors and strengths. Boil water to the appropriate temperature for different types of tea, using temperature-controlled kettles or thermometers to ensure optimal brewing conditions. Steep tea leaves or tea bags for the appropriate duration, allowing flavors to infuse and develop while preventing over-extraction or bitterness. Customize tea orders based on customer preferences for sweetness, milk, lemon, or other add-ins, and prepare specialty tea drinks as requested. Garnish teas with lemon wedges, mint leaves, or other decorative accents to enhance presentation and appeal. Serve teas promptly and courteously to customers, using trays or serving trays as needed, and ensure accuracy in order delivery. Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or special requests. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the tea preparation area, including tea stations, counters, equipment, and utensils, following sanitation standards and hygiene practices. Clean and sanitize tea-making equipment, tea pots, cups, and utensils regularly, and ensure proper storage and maintenance. Assist in stocking tea supplies, ingredients, and condiments, and replenish items as needed to ensure availability during peak hours. Follow cash handling procedures and operate the POS system accurately for tea sales and transactions. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, including punctuality, attendance, and professional appearance. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a Tea Maker, Barista, or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of different types of tea, brewing methods, and flavor profiles, with a passion for tea culture and appreciation for quality teas. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and colleagues. Attention to detail and accuracy in tea preparation, portioning, and presentation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Fluency in Malayalam; proficiency in English or other languages is an advantage. Basic math skills for measuring and portioning tea ingredients, handling cash, and processing transactions.
