Responsibilities: Diagnose hardware issues in electronic devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other consumer electronics, at the component level. Disassemble electronic devices to access internal components, using appropriate tools and techniques to avoid damage. Inspect circuit boards, chips, and other electronic components for signs of damage, corrosion, or malfunction. Utilize schematic diagrams, circuit layouts, and technical documentation to identify and understand the function and interconnection of electronic components. Test electronic components, such as integrated circuits (ICs), resistors, capacitors, and transistors, using specialized testing equipment and tools. Replace faulty or damaged components, including ICs, connectors, and passive components, with compatible replacements. Solder and desolder electronic components using soldering irons, soldering stations, and rework tools, ensuring proper soldering techniques and standards. Perform functional tests and quality checks on repaired devices to verify proper operation and ensure adherence to quality standards. Install firmware updates, reflash memory chips, and perform software resets as needed to resolve software-related issues. Document repair activities, including parts replaced, procedures followed, and test results, using repair tracking systems or software. Provide estimates for repair costs and turnaround times to customers, communicating repair options and recommendations effectively. Stay updated on new technologies, repair techniques, and industry trends in electronic devices and chip-level repair. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including workstations, tools, and equipment, to ensure efficiency and safety. Requirements: Diploma or certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience (X years) as a Chip Level Technician or in a similar role, with expertise in diagnosing and repairing electronic devices at the component level. In-depth knowledge of electronic circuitry, microelectronics, and semiconductor devices, including ICs, transistors, and diodes. Proficiency in using electronic testing equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers, for troubleshooting and testing electronic components. Strong soldering skills and experience with surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering techniques. Familiarity with schematic diagrams, circuit layouts, and technical documentation for electronic devices. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex hardware issues and implement effective solutions. Attention to detail and the ability to work meticulously to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair of electronic devices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues. Fluency in Malayalam and English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
