The Book Binder will be responsible for assembling and binding printed materials into finished products such as books, journals, and other publications. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookbinding techniques, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a production environment. Responsibilities: Review job orders and specifications to determine binding requirements, including size, materials, and finishing options. Set up and operate binding equipment such as binding machines, cutting machines, stitching machines, and guillotine cutters. Trim, fold, gather, and stitch printed sheets or signatures to create book blocks or sections. Apply adhesive to spine edges and attach covers or book boards to complete the binding process. Use hand tools and equipment to emboss, foil stamp, or decorate book covers as needed. Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making any necessary adjustments or repairs. Package and label finished books for shipping or distribution according to customer specifications. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, including equipment maintenance and routine cleaning tasks. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and quality standards. Requirements: Previous experience in bookbinding or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of bookbinding techniques, equipment, and materials.
