Job Description: As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in our kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all items are cleaned thoroughly and promptly to meet hygiene standards and support smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness. Key Responsibilities: Load, unload, and operate the dishwasher to wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils. Scrape, rinse, and pre-soak dishes and utensils as needed to remove food residue and grease before loading them into the dishwasher. Use appropriate cleaning agents, detergents, and sanitizers to wash and disinfect dishes and kitchen equipment effectively. Monitor dishwasher operation and water temperature to ensure that dishes are washed and sanitized properly. Inspect washed dishes and utensils for cleanliness and quality, re-washing or re-rinsing items as needed to meet standards. Empty and clean dishwasher filters, strainers, and trays regularly to prevent clogs and maintain optimal performance. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area, including cleaning sinks, countertops, and equipment surfaces. Dispose of waste and garbage in designated receptacles, ensuring proper recycling and disposal procedures are followed. Assist with kitchen cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces, as needed to support overall cleanliness. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations and standards at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and supervisors to coordinate dishwashing activities and prioritize tasks. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management to support the smooth operation of the kitchen and culinary team. Qualifications: Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail and cleanliness. Physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects for extended periods. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to take on various tasks and responsibilities. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a plus.
