As part of our team, Kitchen Helpers play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff and ensuring smooth operations in the kitchen. Job Description: The Kitchen Helper will assist the kitchen staff in various tasks, including food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and organization. This role involves working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure that food is prepared and served efficiently and that the kitchen area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and willing to learn. Key Responsibilities: Assist with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, peeling potatoes, and portioning ingredients, under the guidance of kitchen staff. Set up workstations with ingredients, utensils, and cooking equipment as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor. Follow standardized recipes and cooking techniques to prepare basic dishes, such as salads, appetizers, and side dishes. Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors, safely and efficiently. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils according to food safety and hygiene standards. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils by hand or using dishwashing equipment, ensuring thorough cleanliness and sanitation. Empty trash bins, sweep and mop floors, and maintain overall cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food preparation areas. Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, rotating stock, and maintaining inventory levels. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of food orders. Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including proper food handling and storage procedures. Uphold company standards of cleanliness, quality, and efficiency in all kitchen operations. Perform other duties as assigned by the chef, kitchen supervisor, or management team. Qualifications: Previous experience as a kitchen helper, dishwasher, or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Basic understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that involve standing, lifting, and carrying heavy objects. Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
