As part of our team, the Automobile Body Builder will play a crucial role in fabricating and customizing vehicle bodies according to customer specifications and industry standards. Job Description: The Automobile Body Builder will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and customizing vehicle bodies for commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, and other automotive applications. This role involves working closely with design engineers, fabricators, welders, and other team members to fabricate vehicle bodies that meet customer requirements and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in metal fabrication, welding, and vehicle customization, as well as a strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities: Interpret and review engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand customer requirements and design parameters for vehicle bodies. Fabricate and assemble vehicle body components, including panels, frames, chassis, roofs, floors, doors, and interiors, using a variety of materials and techniques, such as metal fabrication, welding, cutting, and shaping. Measure and cut materials, such as steel sheets, aluminum panels, fiberglass, and composites, according to design specifications and dimensions, using hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Weld and join metal components and assemblies together using various welding techniques, such as MIG welding, TIG welding, and spot welding, to ensure structural integrity and strength. Install and fit vehicle body components, including windows, doors, hatches, seals, and hardware, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and functionality. Perform customization and modification work on vehicle bodies, such as adding storage compartments, installing specialized equipment, and implementing customer-requested features and enhancements. Inspect finished vehicle bodies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with design specifications, making any necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure conformance to standards. Follow safety protocols and procedures when handling materials, tools, and equipment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and observing safety guidelines. Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and production supervisors to coordinate workflow, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines and production schedules. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and materials, and adhere to good housekeeping practices to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Qualifications: Previous experience as an automobile body builder, fabricator, welder, or in a similar role in the automotive industry is required. Proficiency in metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, welding, bending, and shaping of various materials, such as steel, aluminum, and fiberglass. Familiarity with automotive body construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills, with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively. Attention to detail and precision in performing fabrication and assembly tasks to ensure quality and accuracy. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Physical stamina and endurance to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks. Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
