Job Description: The Tea Maker will be responsible for preparing a variety of teas and related beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. This role involves brewing tea, preparing tea blends, adding flavorings and sweeteners, and presenting beverages in an attractive and appealing manner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tea, excellent brewing skills, and a friendly and welcoming demeanor. Key Responsibilities: Brew a variety of teas, including black, green, white, herbal, and specialty teas, according to standardized recipes and customer preferences. Measure and portion tea leaves or tea bags accurately, ensuring consistency in flavor and strength of brewed tea. Prepare tea blends and specialty beverages, such as chai tea lattes, iced teas, and tea-infused cocktails, following established recipes and techniques. Add flavorings, sweeteners, and garnishes to teas as requested by customers, ensuring that beverages are prepared to their satisfaction. Operate tea brewing equipment, such as tea kettles, tea makers, and tea infusers, safely and efficiently to ensure proper brewing and extraction of flavors. Monitor brewing times and temperatures to achieve optimal results and prevent bitterness or over-extraction of tea leaves. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the tea preparation area, including tea storage containers, brewing equipment, and serving stations. Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations on tea selections and menu items as needed. Serve teas and beverages to customers promptly and courteously, ensuring presentation and quality meet company standards. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including processing payments, providing change, and issuing receipts as needed. Uphold company standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety in all aspects of tea preparation and service. Assist with other tasks as needed, including restocking tea supplies, cleaning dishes and utensils, and maintaining inventory levels. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Tea Maker, Barista, or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Passion for tea and knowledge of different tea varieties, brewing methods, and flavor profiles. Excellent brewing skills, with the ability to achieve consistent flavor and quality in brewed teas. Strong customer service orientation, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic café environment. Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
