Responsibilities: Surface Preparation: Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning as needed. Remove rust, dents, and imperfections from surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques. Ensure that surfaces are smooth, clean, and free of contaminants before painting. Color Matching: Mix paint colors according to manufacturer specifications, customer preferences, and vehicle specifications. Use color charts, paint codes, and tinting equipment to achieve accurate color matches and blends. Adjust colors as needed to match existing finishes or customer requirements. Paint Application: Apply paint coats to vehicle surfaces using spray guns, brushes, or rollers. Follow painting procedures, techniques, and safety guidelines to achieve even coverage, smooth finishes, and proper adhesion. Apply multiple coats of paint as required, allowing adequate drying time between coats. Clear Coat Application: Apply clear coats and protective finishes to painted surfaces to enhance durability, gloss, and weather resistance. Ensure that clear coats are applied evenly and smoothly, avoiding runs, drips, and orange peel. Detailing and Polishing: Perform detailing and polishing tasks to enhance the appearance and finish of painted surfaces. Buff, sand, and polish painted surfaces to remove imperfections, achieve desired gloss levels, and restore shine. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks and inspections throughout the painting process to ensure that work meets company standards and customer expectations. Inspect finished surfaces for flaws, defects, or inconsistencies and make necessary corrections or touch-ups. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean painting equipment, tools, and supplies to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Clean spray guns, paint booths, mixing equipment, and ventilation systems regularly to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations related to painting operations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices to prevent accidents, injuries, and exposure to hazardous materials.
