Responsibilities: System Diagnosis: Diagnose air conditioning system malfunctions in vehicles, including inadequate cooling, unusual noises, and refrigerant leaks, using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify the root cause of problems. Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly, including recovery, recycling, and recharging procedures, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards for refrigerant management. Component Inspection and Repair: Inspect and test AC system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, and refrigerant lines, and repair or replace defective parts as needed to restore proper functionality. Leak Detection and Repair: Detect and repair refrigerant leaks using leak detection tools and methods, such as dye testing, electronic leak detection, and pressure testing, and repair leaks using appropriate sealing techniques and materials. System Flushing and Cleaning: Flush and clean AC system components, such as evaporators and condensers, to remove contaminants, debris, and residual refrigerant oil, and ensure proper lubrication and cooling efficiency. Pressure Testing and Performance Evaluation: Conduct pressure testing and performance evaluations of AC systems to verify proper operation, refrigerant pressures, temperature output, and humidity control, and adjust settings or make repairs as needed to optimize performance. Electrical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues affecting AC system operation, including faulty relays, switches, wiring, and sensors, and ensure proper integration and communication with vehicle electrical systems. System Recharging and Evacuation: Recharge AC systems with refrigerant according to manufacturer specifications and recommended procedures, and perform vacuum evacuation procedures to remove air and moisture from the system. Quality Assurance: Inspect completed AC repairs for quality and accuracy, conduct post-repair testing and performance checks, and address any residual issues or customer concerns to ensure satisfaction with the service provided. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of AC system repairs, including parts used, labor hours, diagnostic findings, and repair procedures, and prepare service reports and invoices for billing and documentation purposes. Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification required. Vocational training or certification in automotive HVAC systems or air conditioning repair is preferred. Experience: Proven experience as an Automobile AC Technician or HVAC Technician, with hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing automotive air conditioning systems. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of automotive air conditioning systems, components, and refrigeration cycles, and proficiency in using diagnostic tools, refrigerant handling equipment, and AC service procedures. Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex AC system issues, identify root causes, and develop effective repair strategies to resolve problems efficiently. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and precision in performing AC system repairs, refrigerant handling procedures, and system testing to ensure accuracy and compliance with manufacturer specifications. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, stooping, and working in various positions for extended periods.
