Responsibilities: Vehicle Body Construction: Fabricate and assemble vehicle bodies, chassis, and frames using various materials, including steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and composite materials, to meet client requirements and project specifications. Body Repair and Restoration: Repair and restore damaged or worn-out vehicle bodies and structural components, including body panels, doors, roofs, and floors, using welding, cutting, and shaping techniques. Customization and Modification: Customize and modify vehicle bodies and structures to accommodate special features, equipment, or design preferences, such as adding utility beds, cargo boxes, or specialized compartments. Panel Fabrication: Fabricate and install body panels, fenders, hoods, and other exterior components, ensuring proper alignment, fitment, and finishing to maintain the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the vehicle. Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding, brazing, soldering, and metal fabrication tasks to join metal components, reinforce structural elements, and create custom modifications, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Surface Preparation and Finishing: Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, filling, and priming to ensure a smooth and even finish, and apply paint, decals, and protective coatings as required to enhance durability and appearance. Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with design specifications and safety standards, making necessary adjustments and corrections to achieve the desired results. Material Management: Manage inventory of materials, tools, and equipment required for automobile body building and repair projects, ensuring adequate supplies and resources are available to meet production schedules and deadlines. Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and project requirements, providing guidance, recommendations, and updates throughout the construction or repair process. Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification required. Vocational training or certification in automotive body building, welding, or metal fabrication is preferred. Experience: Proven experience as an Automobile Body Builder or similar role, with hands-on experience in vehicle body construction, repair, and customization. Technical Skills: Proficiency in automotive body building techniques, including welding (MIG, TIG, ARC), metal fabrication, panel beating, and surface preparation. Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive design principles, structural mechanics, and materials science, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship to ensure precision, accuracy, and quality in all aspects of vehicle body construction and finishing. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and challenges encountered during the construction or repair process. Safety Awareness: Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations governing automotive workshops and construction sites. Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and suppliers, and convey technical information and instructions clearly and concisely.
