As a Chip Level Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic devices at the component level. Your role involves troubleshooting circuit boards, identifying faulty components, and performing repairs to restore functionality. Responsibilities: Device Diagnosis: Analyze electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and motherboards, to identify hardware issues and malfunctions. Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and testing equipment to pinpoint problems at the component level. Component-Level Repair: Replace defective integrated circuits (ICs), capacitors, resistors, transistors, and other electronic components on circuit boards. Perform soldering and desoldering tasks with precision to remove and install components without damaging the board. Rework and Refurbishment: Repair damaged traces, pads, and vias on circuit boards using soldering techniques and conductive materials. Clean and reassemble electronic devices after repairs, ensuring that all components are properly aligned and secured. Quality Control: Conduct functional tests and performance evaluations on repaired devices to verify proper operation and reliability. Inspect repaired devices for cosmetic defects, cleanliness, and adherence to quality standards before returning them to customers. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of repairs, including parts used, procedures performed, and test results. Generate repair reports and documentation for customer reference and internal quality control purposes. Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their device issues, provide repair estimates, and communicate repair status updates. Offer technical advice and recommendations to customers regarding device maintenance, care, and usage. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or certification in Electronics Engineering, Computer Hardware, or a related field. Proven experience as a Chip Level Technician or in electronics repair and troubleshooting roles. Expertise in soldering and rework techniques, including surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components. Strong understanding of electronic circuits, schematics, and troubleshooting methodologies. Attention to detail and manual dexterity for working with small components and intricate assemblies.
