As an AC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) equipment. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to customers. Responsibilities: Installation and Commissioning: Install new air conditioning systems, including split AC units, central air conditioning systems, and ductless mini-split systems, according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards. Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure proper operation, refrigerant levels, and airflow distribution. Maintenance and Servicing: Conduct routine maintenance inspections on air conditioning units to check for wear and tear, refrigerant leaks, and electrical issues. Clean air filters, coils, and condensers, and lubricate moving parts to optimize system performance and energy efficiency. Replace faulty components, such as capacitors, contactors, thermostats, and sensors, to prevent system breakdowns and malfunctions. Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose AC system problems, such as inadequate cooling, airflow restrictions, or compressor failures, using diagnostic tools and techniques. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or wiring to restore proper functionality and performance. Test repaired systems to ensure they meet safety and quality standards before returning them to service. Customer Service and Communication: Interact with customers to understand their AC system requirements, address concerns, and provide recommendations for repairs or upgrades. Explain technical issues and repair options to customers in a clear and understandable manner, offering transparent pricing and timelines. Maintain professional conduct and uphold company policies and standards while interacting with customers and colleagues. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service calls, work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. Generate service reports and invoices for customers, detailing the services provided and any recommendations for future maintenance or repairs. Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members to coordinate schedules, prioritize tasks, and resolve customer issues. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or certification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology, HVAC systems, or a related field. Proven experience as an AC Technician or HVAC technician, with hands-on experience in installing, servicing, and repairing air conditioning systems. Knowledge of AC system components, refrigeration cycles, electrical circuits, and troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and other equipment for testing and troubleshooting HVAC systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.
