As a Chinese Chef, you will be responsible for creating, preparing, and presenting a variety of Chinese dishes in our restaurant. Your role involves overseeing kitchen operations, managing food quality and consistency, and ensuring the authenticity of Chinese cuisine. This position requires expertise in Chinese cooking techniques, menu planning, and kitchen management. Responsibilities: Menu Planning and Recipe Development: Plan and develop Chinese menus, including a range of appetizers, main courses, noodles, rice dishes, and desserts. Create recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines for Chinese dishes, ensuring authenticity and quality. Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook Chinese dishes using traditional techniques, ingredients, and seasonings to achieve authentic flavors and textures. Oversee the cooking process, including stir-frying, steaming, braising, and deep-frying, to ensure consistency and quality. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure that food is cooked to perfection and meets food safety standards. Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, assistant chefs, and kitchen helpers, to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow. Coordinate food preparation schedules, work assignments, and kitchen activities to meet service demands and maintain quality standards. Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to optimize profitability and minimize waste. Quality Control and Presentation: Inspect food items, ingredients, and kitchen equipment for freshness, quality, and sanitation before use. Ensure that dishes are plated and presented attractively, following established presentation guidelines and standards. Taste and adjust seasoning, spices, and flavors as needed to achieve desired taste profiles and customer satisfaction. Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including work surfaces, equipment, utensils, and storage areas, following food safety regulations and guidelines. Train kitchen staff on proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including fire safety regulations, equipment maintenance, and hygiene protocols. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or certification in culinary arts, hotel management, or a related field. Proven experience as a Chinese Chef or in a similar role, with expertise in preparing and cooking Chinese cuisine. In-depth knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, sauces, and seasonings. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively with kitchen staff. Creativity and passion for Chinese cuisine, with the ability to innovate and adapt traditional recipes.
