Responsibilities: Menu Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare a variety of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, and chutneys, among others. Follow traditional recipes and cooking techniques to ensure authentic flavors and textures. Customize dishes based on guest preferences and dietary restrictions, as needed. Food Quality and Presentation: Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, and taste in all South Indian dishes prepared. Ensure that food presentation is visually appealing and meets established standards. Monitor portion sizes and presentation consistency to enhance guest satisfaction. Kitchen Operations: Coordinate with kitchen staff to organize workflow and ensure timely preparation and service of South Indian dishes. Supervise and train kitchen helpers and assistants in South Indian cooking techniques and recipes. Monitor inventory levels of South Indian ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed. Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices. Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain cleanliness and safety. Implement hygiene protocols and safety measures to prevent food contamination and maintain a safe working environment. In-depth knowledge of South Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
