As a South Indian Chef, you will lead the culinary team in preparing authentic South Indian cuisine while maintaining high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Your expertise in South Indian cooking techniques and flavors will be instrumental in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. This role requires culinary leadership, creativity, and a deep understanding of South Indian culinary traditions. Responsibilities: Menu Development: Develop and curate a diverse menu of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries, and chutneys. Innovate and introduce new dishes while maintaining the authenticity and integrity of traditional recipes. Collaborate with management to create seasonal menus and special promotions. Food Preparation and Cooking: Oversee the preparation and cooking of South Indian dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards. Train and mentor kitchen staff in South Indian cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and presentation. Monitor food quality and taste, making adjustments as needed to achieve consistent results. Kitchen Operations Management: Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and scheduling staff. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections and training sessions. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations. Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct regular tastings and evaluations of dishes to maintain high standards of quality and taste. Monitor portion sizes and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction. Address any issues or concerns related to food quality, consistency, or guest feedback promptly and effectively. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the culinary team, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging collaboration and creativity. Provide guidance, feedback, and training to kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or Head Chef specializing in South Indian cuisine. Extensive knowledge of South Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary school or institution. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team. Creativity and innovation in menu development and dish presentation.
