Position Title: Housekeeping Supervisor Location: Kozhikode, Kerala, India Job Description: Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff activities to ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and sanitation standards are met or exceeded. Schedule and assign duties to housekeeping team members, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources. Train new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, safety protocols, and customer service standards. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and compliance with established standards. Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, and coordinate with procurement staff for timely replenishment. Handle guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally. Collaborate with other departments, such as Front Office and Maintenance, to address maintenance issues, room readiness, and guest needs. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for housekeeping staff. Conduct performance evaluations for housekeeping team members and provide feedback, coaching, and recognition as needed. Maintain records of housekeeping activities, including room occupancy, cleaning schedules, and maintenance requests. Assist in the development and implementation of housekeeping policies, procedures, and standards. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in housekeeping management. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll processing, and budget management as assigned by management. Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or General Manager. Requirements: Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals used in commercial cleaning operations. Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation regulations relevant to the hospitality industry. Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office and housekeeping management software. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Effective communication skills in English and preferably in the local language. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in housekeeping or hospitality management is a plus.
