As a Laptop Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining laptops and other portable computing devices. Your role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, replacing faulty components, and ensuring that laptops are restored to proper working condition. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience with laptop repair procedures, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software. Key Responsibilities: Diagnostic Testing: Use diagnostic software tools and manual testing methods to identify hardware and software issues affecting laptop performance. Conduct comprehensive testing of laptop components, including the motherboard, CPU, memory, storage devices, and peripherals, to pinpoint faults and failures. Hardware Repair and Replacement: Disassemble laptops and inspect internal components, such as the keyboard, touchpad, screen, hinges, and ports, for signs of damage or malfunction. Replace defective components, including batteries, hard drives, memory modules, and power adapters, using appropriate tools and techniques. Software Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot software issues, including operating system errors, driver conflicts, malware infections, and software glitches, using diagnostic utilities and troubleshooting guides. Perform operating system installations, software updates, and driver installations to resolve software-related problems and improve system performance. Data Recovery and Backup: Perform data recovery procedures on damaged or corrupted storage devices, such as hard drives, SSDs, and memory cards, to retrieve lost or inaccessible data for customers. Backup and transfer data from laptops undergoing repair to ensure data integrity and prevent loss during the repair process. Quality Control and Testing: Conduct post-repair testing and quality assurance checks to verify that repaired laptops are functioning correctly and meeting performance standards. Document repair procedures, test results, and component replacements accurately in repair logs or service records for reference and warranty claims. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or certification in Computer Hardware, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Laptop Technician or similar role, with hands-on experience in laptop repair and troubleshooting. Familiarity with laptop hardware components, including CPUs, RAM, hard drives, and display panels. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing common laptop issues, such as screen flickering, battery drain, overheating, and connectivity problems. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
