As a Chip Level Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electronic devices, including computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets, at the component level. Your role involves troubleshooting hardware issues, replacing faulty components, and ensuring that devices are restored to proper working condition. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience with soldering and circuit board repair, and a thorough understanding of electronic components and systems. Key Responsibilities: Diagnostic Testing: Use diagnostic tools, equipment, and software to identify hardware faults and malfunctions in electronic devices, including laptops, desktop computers, mobile phones, and gaming consoles. Conduct comprehensive testing and analysis of circuit boards, processors, memory modules, and other components to pinpoint issues affecting device performance. Component-Level Repair: Disassemble electronic devices and inspect circuit boards, solder joints, and electronic components, such as capacitors, resistors, transistors, and integrated circuits (ICs), for signs of damage or defects. Replace faulty or damaged components using soldering irons, rework stations, and precision hand tools, ensuring proper alignment, solder connections, and thermal management. Hardware Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot hardware issues reported by customers or identified during diagnostic testing, including display problems, power issues, connectivity issues, and hardware failures. Use technical schematics, service manuals, and circuit diagrams to trace signal paths, identify failure points, and determine the root cause of hardware problems. Data Recovery and Backup: Perform data recovery procedures on damaged or malfunctioning storage devices, such as hard drives, solid-state drives (SSDs), and memory cards, to retrieve lost or corrupted data for customers. Backup and transfer data from devices undergoing repair to ensure data integrity and prevent loss during the repair process. Quality Control and Testing: Conduct post-repair testing and quality assurance checks to verify that repaired devices are functioning correctly and meeting performance specifications. Document repair procedures, test results, and component replacements accurately in repair logs or service records for reference and future warranty claims. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or certification in Electronics Engineering, Computer Hardware, or a related field. Proven experience as a Chip Level Technician or similar role, with hands-on experience in electronic repair and troubleshooting. Proficiency in soldering techniques, circuit board repair, and component-level diagnostics. Familiarity with electronic test equipment, diagnostic software, and hardware repair tools. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
