As a Dishwasher, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen of a restaurant, hotel, or food service establishment in Kozhikode. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored to meet food safety standards. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities: Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment, such as dishwashers and pot washers, to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. Load dirty dishes into the dishwasher, ensuring that items are arranged properly to maximize cleaning efficiency. Hand Washing: Hand wash delicate or oversized items that cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher, using hot water, soap, and scrubbing brushes or sponges. Rinse washed items thoroughly to remove soap residue and ensure cleanliness. Sanitization: Apply sanitizing solutions or run sanitizing cycles in dishwashers to disinfect dishes and utensils, eliminating bacteria and pathogens that may cause foodborne illness. Monitor water temperature and chemical concentrations to ensure that sanitizing solutions are effective and compliant with food safety regulations. Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain dishwashing equipment, including removing debris, grease, and buildup from filters, spray arms, and drainage systems. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to kitchen management for timely repairs or servicing. Kitchen Organization: Organize cleaned dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in designated storage areas, such as dish racks, shelves, or cabinets, to maintain order and accessibility. Empty and clean trash bins and recycling containers regularly to prevent odors and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Assistance with Other Tasks: Assist kitchen staff with food preparation, plating, and other tasks during peak periods or as needed to support efficient kitchen operations. Follow instructions from kitchen supervisors or chefs to ensure smooth workflow and teamwork. Qualifications and Skills: No formal education requirements; high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role in a commercial kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential. Physical stamina and strength to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. Attention to detail and adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Additional Information: This is typically a full-time or part-time position based in Kozhikode, Kerala. Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to accommodate kitchen schedules.
