As a Chinese Chef, you will lead the culinary team in preparing and serving authentic Chinese cuisine, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency in taste and presentation. Your role involves menu planning, recipe development, kitchen management, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Chinese cooking, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering memorable dining experiences. Key Responsibilities: Menu Planning and Recipe Development: Design and develop innovative Chinese menus featuring a diverse range of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Create new recipes or modify existing ones to showcase the flavors and ingredients of Chinese cuisine. Kitchen Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, to ensure smooth workflow and timely service. Monitor food inventory levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen expenses within budgetary constraints. Quality Control and Food Safety: Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards. Staff Training and Development: Train and mentor kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques, recipes, and food presentation skills. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure consistent performance and professional growth. Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with the restaurant management team to understand customer preferences and feedback. Adapt menu offerings and cooking methods to meet customer expectations and enhance dining experiences. Kitchen Hygiene and Safety: Enforce strict hygiene and safety protocols in the kitchen, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is well-maintained, clean, and in good working condition. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a Chinese Chef or Head Chef specializing in Chinese cuisine. Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary school is preferred. In-depth knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and regional cuisines. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a culinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in food quality and presentation.
