As a Steward, you will be responsible for ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests by providing attentive and efficient service. Your primary duties include taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and present menus. Assist guests in making menu selections, providing recommendations, and answering questions about menu items. Order Taking and Processing: Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, using a handheld device or order pad to record orders and transmit them to the kitchen. Communicate special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff and ensure that orders are prepared correctly. Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages to guests, following proper service etiquette and presentation standards. Ensure that each guest's needs are met promptly and courteously throughout their dining experience. Table Maintenance: Monitor tables for cleanliness and organization, clearing used dishes, utensils, and glassware as needed. Reset tables for new guests, ensuring that table settings are complete and clean. Upselling and Promotion: Promote specials, featured menu items, and upsell opportunities to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Suggest wine pairings, appetizers, desserts, or additional items to complement guests' meal selections. Payment Handling: Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and provide change or receipts as needed. Thank guests for their patronage and invite them to return to the restaurant for future dining experiences. Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience as a steward, waiter, waitress, or food service attendant in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred. Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly and concisely. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed. Basic math skills for processing orders, calculating bills, and handling payments accurately. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the operational needs of the restaurant. Physical stamina and endurance to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods during shifts. Additional Information: Training on restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards may be provided to new hires.
