We are looking for an experienced and talented South Indian Cook to prepare and cook a variety of traditional South Indian dishes with authenticity and flair. The South Indian Cook will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes are prepared to our restaurant's high standards and that our guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a wide range of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries, and chutneys. Follow authentic recipes and cooking techniques to achieve traditional flavors and textures. Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly portioned, and prepared according to recipe specifications. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, including food preparation surfaces, utensils, and equipment. Monitor food stock levels and replenish ingredients as needed to minimize wastage and ensure continuous food production. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate cooking times and ensure timely service of dishes. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure food safety. Assist in menu planning and recipe development to introduce new and innovative South Indian dishes. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff members in South Indian cooking techniques and recipes. Adhere to quality control standards and conduct regular taste tests to maintain consistency in flavors and presentation. Assist in maintaining inventory records and ordering supplies as needed. Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned by the kitchen supervisor or manager. Requirements: Proven work experience as a South Indian Cook or in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or hotel specializing in South Indian cuisine. In-depth knowledge of South Indian culinary techniques, spices, and ingredients. Proficiency in preparing a variety of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, and curries. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
