Warehouse Supervisor Job Opening in Kollam

We are seeking a proactive and organized Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our warehouse operations in Kollam. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating shipments, and ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse facility. Responsibilities: Supervise warehouse staff, including warehouse workers, forklift operators, and other personnel, and provide direction, guidance, and support as needed. Maintain inventory accuracy by conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to address inventory variances. Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and ensure proper storage and handling of goods to prevent damage, loss, or spoilage. Coordinate with procurement and purchasing departments to replenish stock levels, place orders with suppliers, and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet demand. Implement and enforce warehouse safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel. Train warehouse staff on proper equipment operation, safety practices, and warehouse procedures, and conduct regular safety inspections and audits. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software to track inventory, generate reports, and optimize warehouse operations. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes. Optimize warehouse layout and storage configurations to maximize space utilization, improve workflow efficiency, and minimize product handling and travel times. Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including scheduling transportation, coordinating with carriers, and managing freight rates and delivery schedules. Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, carriers, and customers to coordinate orders, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Proven work experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, or similar role in a warehouse or distribution center environment. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of warehouse personnel. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control principles, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management. Familiarity with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and industry best practices for warehouse safety and security. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively in response to changing circumstances. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs and operational requirements. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel to suppliers, customers, and other warehouse locations.
