As a CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) Technician in Ernakulam, your primary responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair CCTV systems to ensure the security and surveillance needs of clients are met. You will play a crucial role in assessing security requirements, installing surveillance equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing ongoing support to ensure the optimal performance of CCTV systems. Key Responsibilities: Site Assessment: Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the security needs and requirements of clients, including the placement of cameras, monitoring stations, and other surveillance equipment. CCTV Installation: Install, configure, and set up CCTV cameras, DVRs (Digital Video Recorders), NVRs (Network Video Recorders), monitors, and other surveillance devices according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices. Wiring and Cabling: Install and route wiring and cables for CCTV systems, including coaxial cables, Ethernet cables, power cables, and connectors, ensuring proper connections and cable management to minimize signal loss and interference. System Integration: Integrate CCTV systems with other security systems, such as access control systems, alarm systems, and intercoms, to provide comprehensive security solutions tailored to the needs of clients. Testing and Commissioning: Test and calibrate CCTV equipment and components to ensure functionality, clarity, and reliability of video and audio signals, perform system checks, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, inspection, and software updates, to keep CCTV systems in optimal working condition, and troubleshoot and repair hardware or software problems promptly to minimize downtime. Remote Monitoring: Set up remote monitoring capabilities for CCTV systems, including mobile viewing and cloud-based storage, and provide training to clients on how to access and use monitoring software and apps. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and service calls, including equipment specifications, configurations, and warranty information, and prepare reports for clients and supervisors as required. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and technical support to clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally, and ensuring their satisfaction with CCTV system performance. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations governing CCTV installation and operation, including privacy laws, electrical codes, and occupational health and safety standards, to ensure compliance and minimize risks. Qualifications: Diploma or certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Proven experience as a CCTV Technician or similar role, with hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting CCTV systems. Knowledge of CCTV equipment, including cameras, DVRs, NVRs, cables, and connectors, and familiarity with leading CCTV brands and manufacturers. Proficiency in reading technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics, and understanding of wiring diagrams and network configurations. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to CCTV hardware, software, and network connectivity. Familiarity with networking concepts, IP addressing, and TCP/IP protocols, and experience with IP-based CCTV systems is a plus. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform installation and maintenance tasks, including working at heights and in confined spaces, and lifting and carrying equipment.
