As a Steward in Thrissur, your primary responsibility is to provide excellent customer service and support the smooth operation of the restaurant or dining establishment. You will play a vital role in ensuring a positive dining experience for guests by assisting with table setup, food and beverage service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area. Key Responsibilities: Table Setup: Set up tables with appropriate tableware, glassware, utensils, and linens according to established standards and seating arrangements. Greeting Guests: Greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant, escort them to their tables, and present menus, providing recommendations and answering questions about menu items. Order Taking: Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, using order-taking systems or handheld devices, and ensure special requests or dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen staff. Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, following proper serving etiquette and presentation standards, and ensure accuracy in order delivery. Table Maintenance: Monitor tables throughout the dining experience, clearing empty plates, refilling water glasses, and providing additional utensils or condiments as needed to ensure a clean and organized dining area. Assistance to Servers: Assist servers with food and beverage service, carrying trays, delivering dishes to tables, and coordinating with the kitchen for timely preparation and delivery of orders. Customer Interaction: Interact with guests, anticipate their needs, and provide assistance and recommendations as needed to enhance the dining experience and ensure customer satisfaction. Billing Support: Assist with billing processes, presenting bills accurately, processing payments, and handling cash or electronic transactions securely, providing receipts and thanking customers for their patronage. Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area, including wiping tables, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and health codes. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure efficient service flow, communicate customer preferences or modifications, and maintain a cohesive team environment. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Steward, Waiter, or Server in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality establishment is preferred but not required. Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality and the ability to interact professionally with diverse clientele. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen attentively, communicate clearly, and work effectively as part of a team. Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking, serving, and payment handling. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods. Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Basic knowledge of food and beverage service etiquette and procedures. Training or certification in hospitality or food service is an advantage.
