As a Heavy Driver based in Kollam, your primary responsibility will be to operate heavy vehicles safely and efficiently, transporting goods or passengers to their destinations in accordance with established routes and schedules. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, or other commercial vehicles to transport goods or passengers to designated locations. Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself, passengers, and other road users at all times. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to check for any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns, reporting any problems to the appropriate authorities. Ensure that cargo is securely loaded and properly distributed within the vehicle to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Plan and follow designated routes, using maps or GPS navigation systems as needed, to reach destinations efficiently and on time. Monitor traffic conditions, weather forecasts, and road closures, adjusting routes or driving strategies as necessary to avoid delays or hazards. Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and trip logs, submitting reports to supervisors as required. Provide assistance with loading and unloading cargo, securing items as needed to prevent damage during transport.
