As a Waiter/Waitress in Kozhikode, your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent customer service to restaurant patrons, take orders, serve food and beverages, and ensure guest satisfaction. You will play a key role in creating a positive dining experience for our customers by delivering attentive and friendly service. Below are the key responsibilities associated with this position: Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus. Assisting guests with seating arrangements and offering recommendations if requested. Taking Orders: Taking food and beverage orders from guests accurately and efficiently. Answering questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Recording orders using handheld devices or order pads. Food and Beverage Service: Serving food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner. Ensuring that orders are delivered correctly and according to guest preferences. Presenting dishes attractively and verifying order accuracy before serving. Table Maintenance: Monitoring tables throughout the dining experience to ensure they are clean, properly set, and well-maintained. Clearing empty plates, glasses, and utensils promptly to maintain a clutter-free environment. Upselling and Recommending: Suggesting additional menu items, specials, and promotions to guests to enhance their dining experience and increase sales. Upselling appetizers, desserts, or beverages as appropriate. Customer Interaction: Interacting with guests in a friendly and courteous manner, addressing any concerns or special requests they may have. Anticipating guest needs and providing proactive assistance to ensure a positive experience. Payment Processing: Presenting bills to guests, processing payments accurately, and returning change or receipts promptly. Handling cash, credit card transactions, and electronic payments securely and following established procedures. Team Collaboration: Collaborating effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other waitstaff to ensure smooth operations and timely service. Communicating guest preferences, special requests, and order updates to the kitchen as needed. Knowledge of Menu and Specials: Familiarizing yourself with the restaurant's menu offerings, daily specials, and promotions. Providing detailed descriptions of menu items and making recommendations based on guest preferences. Cleanliness and Hygiene: Adhering to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations. Maintaining personal hygiene and grooming standards, including wearing clean uniforms and adhering to handwashing protocols. Requirements: Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a restaurant, cafe, or hospitality establishment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues. Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tables and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm and courteous during busy periods. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating bills accurately. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the operational needs of the restaurant. Fluency in English and proficiency in Malayalam would be an advantage.
