As part of our technical team, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Laptop Technician to diagnose and repair laptop hardware and software issues efficiently and effectively. Job Description: 1. Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough diagnostics and troubleshooting of laptop hardware and software issues reported by clients, utilizing diagnostic tools, testing procedures, and technical knowledge to identify root causes and recommend appropriate solutions. Assess and analyze symptoms, error messages, and system logs to diagnose hardware failures, software conflicts, malware infections, and other technical issues affecting laptop performance. 2. Hardware Repair and Maintenance: Perform hardware repairs and replacements on laptops, including components such as motherboards, CPUs, RAM, hard drives, keyboards, screens, and batteries, using appropriate tools and techniques. Diagnose and repair common hardware issues such as overheating, power supply problems, broken connectors, and physical damage, ensuring proper functioning and reliability of laptop components. 3. Software Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications on laptops, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and security. Update device drivers, firmware, and BIOS versions as needed to optimize laptop performance, enhance compatibility, and address security vulnerabilities. 4. Data Backup and Recovery: Assist clients in backing up and recovering data from laptops, utilizing backup software, cloud storage solutions, and data recovery tools to safeguard valuable data and minimize data loss. Recover lost or corrupted data due to hardware failures, software errors, or accidental deletion, following established procedures and best practices for data recovery. 5. Customer Communication and Support: Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner, providing updates on repair status, estimated completion times, and cost estimates for repairs. Communicate technical information and recommendations to clients in a clear and understandable manner, offering guidance and advice on maintenance, upgrades, and best practices for laptop usage. 6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of laptop repairs, including diagnostic findings, repair procedures, parts used, and service history, in the repair tracking system or maintenance log. Generate and submit reports on repair activities, turnaround times, and client satisfaction levels to management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Hardware Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Proven work experience as a Laptop Technician, Computer Repair Technician, or similar role, with hands-on experience in laptop repair, diagnostics, and maintenance. Strong knowledge of laptop hardware components, architecture, and assembly techniques, with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hardware issues. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), software applications, and diagnostic tools used in laptop repair and troubleshooting. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment. Customer service-oriented attitude, with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites for onsite support and service calls as needed.
