As part of our technical team, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Chip-Level Technician to diagnose and repair complex hardware issues at the component level. Job Description: 1. Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Conduct in-depth diagnostics and troubleshooting of electronic devices, including laptops, desktops, motherboards, smartphones, tablets, and other electronic gadgets, to identify and isolate hardware failures and malfunctions. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, equipment, and techniques, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and soldering stations, to analyze circuitry, components, and signals at the chip level. 2. Component-Level Repair and Replacement: Perform chip-level repairs and component-level replacements on electronic devices, including IC chips, capacitors, resistors, transistors, diodes, and connectors, using soldering irons, rework stations, and specialized tools. Remove and replace faulty components, reflow solder joints, and repair damaged traces and circuits to restore functionality and integrity to electronic devices and circuit boards. 3. Firmware and BIOS Flashing: Update firmware and BIOS versions on electronic devices, including laptops, desktops, and motherboards, using manufacturer-provided tools, utilities, and flashing procedures. Ensure compatibility and stability of firmware updates, validating functionality and resolving any issues or errors encountered during the flashing process. 4. Quality Assurance and Testing: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of repaired electronic devices, ensuring proper functionality, performance, and reliability before returning them to clients. Perform stress testing, burn-in tests, and functional tests to simulate real-world usage scenarios and verify the integrity and stability of repaired devices. 5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of repair activities, including diagnostic findings, repair procedures, parts used, and test results, in the repair tracking system or maintenance log. Generate and submit reports on repair turnaround times, repair success rates, and quality assurance metrics to management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for process improvement. 6. Customer Communication and Support: Interact with clients, colleagues, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner, providing updates on repair status, estimated completion times, and cost estimates for repairs. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive customer experience and maintaining customer satisfaction. Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Hardware Engineering, or related field preferred. Proven work experience as a Chip-Level Technician, Hardware Repair Technician, or similar role, with hands-on experience in chip-level repair, diagnostics, and soldering. Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuitry, and schematics, with proficiency in reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and technical documentation. Expertise in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and techniques for troubleshooting complex hardware issues at the component level. Proficiency in soldering techniques, including surface mount soldering (SMD), through-hole soldering, and rework/reflow soldering. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment. Customer service-oriented attitude, with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites for onsite support and service calls as needed.
