Cycle Mechanic Job Opening in Vaikom

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Cycle Mechanic to join our team in Vaikom. The Cycle Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and servicing bicycles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Bicycle Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with bicycles, including flat tires, brake adjustments, gear tuning, chain replacements, and wheel truing. Inspect bicycles thoroughly to identify any worn or damaged components. Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on bicycles to keep them in good working condition. Lubricate moving parts, adjust brakes and gears, and tighten loose bolts and screws as needed. Assembly and Disassembly: Assemble new bicycles according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring all components are installed correctly and securely. Disassemble bicycles for repairs or upgrades, keeping track of all parts and accessories. Wheel Building and Truing: Build and true bicycle wheels using appropriate spokes, nipples, and rims. Ensure that wheels are properly tensioned and balanced to prevent wobbling or instability while riding. Parts Replacement: Replace worn or damaged bicycle parts with new components, including but not limited to tires, tubes, brakes, chains, pedals, saddles, and handlebars. Recommend upgrades or modifications to improve bicycle performance and comfort. Customer Service: Interact with customers professionally and courteously, listening to their concerns and providing expert advice and recommendations. Explain repair procedures and costs clearly, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of bicycle parts, accessories, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for repairs and sales. Place orders for new inventory as needed and organize parts and tools in the workshop for easy access. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations when working with tools, equipment, and hazardous materials. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries. Requirements: Proven experience as a Cycle Mechanic or Bicycle Technician, with a strong background in bicycle repair and maintenance. Technical certification or diploma in bicycle mechanics or a related field preferred. Proficiency in using bicycle repair tools and equipment, including wrenches, screwdrivers, tire levers, chain tools, and spoke wrenches. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
