We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team in Kochi. The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fixtures according to specifications and blueprints. Responsibilities: Carpentry Work: Perform a variety of carpentry tasks including measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wooden components to construct structures such as furniture, cabinets, doors, windows, and framing. Installation: Install finished wooden components and fixtures in buildings, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality. This may include installing doors, windows, moldings, trim, and cabinetry. Repair and Maintenance: Repair or replace damaged or worn wooden structures and fixtures, using hand and power tools. Patch or fill cracks, holes, and joints, sand surfaces, and apply finishes as needed to restore the appearance and functionality of woodwork. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications, dimensions, and materials required for carpentry work. Follow technical plans and instructions accurately to complete tasks. Material Selection: Select appropriate wood materials and other construction supplies based on project requirements, budget constraints, and quality standards. Ensure that materials are of the correct type, size, and grade for each application. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices when operating tools and equipment. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to coordinate work activities, resolve issues, and ensure that carpentry work is completed on time and within budget. Quality Control: Inspect finished carpentry work to ensure that it meets quality standards, specifications, and customer expectations. Make any necessary adjustments or corrections to achieve the desired result. Requirements: Proven experience working as a Carpenter in construction or woodworking projects. Proficiency in carpentry tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Attention to detail and accuracy in carpentry work. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
