As a Dermatologist in Kollam, you will specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. Your role will involve providing medical and surgical care to patients with dermatological conditions, including skin diseases, cosmetic concerns, and sexually transmitted infections. This position requires advanced clinical skills, expertise in dermatological procedures, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities: Patient Consultation and Examination: Conduct comprehensive dermatological consultations and examinations to assess patients' skin health and diagnose dermatological conditions. Take detailed medical histories, perform skin assessments, and order diagnostic tests as needed to formulate accurate diagnoses. Medical Treatment and Management: Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their dermatological diagnoses, medical histories, and treatment goals. Prescribe medications, topical treatments, and skincare regimens to manage skin conditions, infections, and inflammatory disorders. Monitor patients' response to treatment, adjust medication dosages, and provide follow-up care to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Dermatological Procedures: Perform dermatological procedures and interventions, including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, chemical peels, laser therapy, and phototherapy, to treat skin lesions, tumors, and cosmetic concerns. Administer injectable treatments such as botulinum toxin injections, dermal fillers, and sclerotherapy for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes. Cosmetic Dermatology Services: Offer cosmetic dermatology services, including aesthetic consultations, laser treatments, facial rejuvenation procedures, and skincare recommendations. Provide guidance on skincare products, cosmeceuticals, and non-invasive cosmetic procedures to address patients' aesthetic concerns and enhance their appearance. Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients about their dermatological conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to maintain skin health. Provide counseling on sun protection, skincare practices, lifestyle modifications, and dietary factors that may impact skin conditions. Collaboration and Referrals: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, allergists, rheumatologists, and plastic surgeons, to coordinate multidisciplinary care for patients with complex dermatological conditions. Refer patients to specialists or diagnostic facilities for further evaluation or management of conditions beyond the scope of dermatology. Documentation and Record-keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and procedural documentation, in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Continuing Education and Professional Development: Stay updated on advances in dermatology research, treatment modalities, and procedural techniques through ongoing education, conferences, and professional development activities. Pursue board certification, specialty training, or advanced fellowship opportunities to enhance clinical expertise and credentials in dermatology. Requirements: Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized medical school. Postgraduate qualification (MD/DNB) in Dermatology or Dermatology and Venereology from a reputable institution. Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or Kerala Medical Council (KMC). Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as a practicing dermatologist. Proficiency in dermatological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
