As a Lab Technician in Nilambur, your primary responsibility is to assist in the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities, conducting tests and analyses to support research, quality control, and scientific investigations. Your duties may include, but are not limited to: Sample Collection and Preparation: Collecting samples from various sources, such as patients, research subjects, or environmental sources, and preparing them for analysis according to established procedures. Laboratory Testing: Performing a variety of tests and experiments on samples using laboratory equipment and instrumentation. This may include chemical, biological, microbiological, or physical analyses depending on the nature of the research or investigation. Data Recording and Analysis: Recording test results accurately and entering them into laboratory databases or information systems. Analyzing data and interpreting results to draw conclusions or make recommendations based on findings. Quality Control: Conducting quality control checks on laboratory equipment and reagents to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results. Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance protocols to maintain high standards of quality and precision. Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of measurements. Troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating repairs as needed. Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations while working in the laboratory. Following established procedures for handling hazardous materials, chemicals, and biological samples to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment. Inventory Management: Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and reagents. Ordering supplies as needed and ensuring proper storage and handling to prevent contamination or degradation. Documentation and Reporting: Documenting all laboratory procedures, test results, and observations accurately and comprehensively. Preparing reports, summaries, and presentations to communicate findings to supervisors, researchers, or clients. Collaboration: Collaborating with other laboratory staff, researchers, and scientists to plan and execute experiments, troubleshoot technical issues, and achieve project objectives. Communicating effectively and sharing knowledge and expertise to contribute to the success of the team. Professional Development: Staying informed about advancements in laboratory techniques, methodologies, and equipment. Participating in training programs, workshops, or conferences to enhance skills and knowledge in the field. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field, such as biology, chemistry, microbiology, or medical technology. Previous experience working in a laboratory setting preferred but not required. Knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment operation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests and recording data. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
