As a North Indian Cook in Idukki, your primary responsibility is to prepare authentic North Indian dishes to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Your duties may include, but are not limited to: Menu Planning: Collaborating with the restaurant management to develop and update the menu, incorporating a variety of North Indian dishes, including appetizers, main courses, bread, and desserts. Food Preparation: Expertly preparing and cooking a wide range of North Indian dishes, such as curries, kebabs, tandoori items, biryanis, and various types of bread (e.g., naan, roti, paratha), using traditional North Indian cooking techniques. Ingredient Selection: Selecting and sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients, spices, herbs, and seasonings to ensure authentic flavors and optimal taste in each dish. Cooking Techniques: Demonstrating proficiency in North Indian cooking techniques, such as tempering spices, marinating meats, and cooking in a tandoor oven, while maintaining consistency and quality. Recipe Adherence: Following standardized recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency in flavor and presentation across all North Indian dishes. Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times, including proper storage, handling, and cooking temperatures, to prevent contamination and ensure food safety. Kitchen Management: Organizing and managing the kitchen workspace efficiently, including maintaining cleanliness, sanitization, and proper storage of utensils, equipment, and ingredients. Team Collaboration: Working closely with other kitchen staff, including assistants and helpers, to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service. Quality Control: Conducting regular taste tests and visual inspections of dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Customer Satisfaction: Responding promptly and courteously to customer feedback and special requests, striving to exceed guests' expectations with every North Indian dish served. Requirements: Proven experience as a North Indian Cook or Chef, with a strong focus on North Indian cuisine. In-depth knowledge of North Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Creative flair and passion for experimenting with flavors and ingredients to create new and innovative North Indian dishes. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
