a Spray Painter in Kakkanad, Kerala, you will be responsible for applying paint and coatings to various surfaces, including automotive vehicles, furniture, machinery, and other objects. Your expertise in spray painting techniques, color mixing, and surface preparation will contribute to achieving high-quality finishes and customer satisfaction. You will work in collaboration with other members of the painting team to deliver superior painting services. Responsibilities: Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality. Mask or cover areas not to be painted to protect them from overspray or paint splatter. Fill and repair surface imperfections, such as dents, scratches, and dings, using fillers and putties as needed. Paint Mixing and Color Matching: Mix paint colors and additives to achieve desired shades and finishes according to customer specifications. Match paint colors to samples, color codes, or swatches provided by customers or manufacturers. Spray Painting Techniques: Operate spray painting equipment, including spray guns, airbrushes, and paint booths, to apply paint and coatings evenly and efficiently. Adjust spray gun settings, such as air pressure, paint flow, and nozzle size, to achieve optimal spray patterns and coverage. Apply multiple coats of paint, primer, and clear coat as needed to achieve desired finish quality and durability. Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces for defects, runs, sags, or other imperfections and make necessary corrections. Ensure that painted surfaces meet quality standards, including smoothness, glossiness, and color consistency. Perform touch-up painting or refinishing work to address any flaws or blemishes in the finish. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain spray painting equipment in good working condition by cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance tasks. Replace worn or damaged components, such as spray gun tips, hoses, and filters, as needed to ensure optimal performance. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling paint and coatings, operating spray painting equipment, and working in paint booths. Use personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators, goggles, gloves, and coveralls, to protect against chemical exposure and paint fumes. Adhere to environmental regulations and disposal procedures for paint products and waste materials. Requirements: Proven experience as a Spray Painter or Automotive Painter in a painting workshop, auto body shop, or manufacturing facility. Proficiency in spray painting techniques, including knowledge of paint application methods, equipment operation, and surface preparation. Familiarity with paint mixing, color matching, and paint chemistry principles. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality finishes. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and operate spray painting equipment for extended periods. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Certification or training in spray painting, auto body repair, or a related field is preferred.
