As a Polisher in Kakkanad, Kerala, you will be responsible for restoring and enhancing the appearance of various surfaces, including automotive paint, metal, and other materials. Your expertise in polishing techniques, surface preparation, and finishing will contribute to achieving high-quality results and customer satisfaction. You will work in collaboration with other members of the automotive repair or detailing team to deliver superior polishing services. Responsibilities: Surface Preparation: Inspect surfaces to assess their condition and determine the appropriate polishing techniques and products to use. Clean surfaces thoroughly to remove dirt, grime, and debris before polishing. Mask or protect surrounding areas to prevent damage or overspray during the polishing process. Polishing Techniques: Use polishing equipment, such as rotary buffers, orbital polishers, and hand polishing pads, to restore and enhance the appearance of surfaces. Apply polishing compounds, abrasives, and buffing pads to remove imperfections, scratches, and oxidation from surfaces. Adjust polishing techniques and pressure levels based on the type of surface and desired finish. Surface Finishing: Polish automotive paint surfaces to achieve a smooth, glossy finish and enhance the depth and clarity of the paint color. Polish metal surfaces, such as chrome trim, wheels, and exhaust pipes, to remove tarnish, rust, and oxidation and restore shine. Polish other materials, such as plastic, glass, and wood, to remove scratches and restore luster. Quality Control: Inspect polished surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and achieve the desired finish. Touch up or re-polish areas as needed to address any imperfections or blemishes. Verify the completeness and accuracy of polishing work before returning items to customers. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain polishing equipment in good working condition by cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance tasks. Replace worn or damaged polishing pads, abrasives, and other consumable items as needed. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines when operating polishing equipment and handling polishing products and chemicals. Use personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety goggles, gloves, and respirators, as necessary. Adhere to environmental regulations and disposal procedures for polishing products and waste materials. Requirements: Proven experience as a Polisher or Detailer in an automotive repair shop, detailing center, or similar environment. Proficiency in polishing techniques, including the use of rotary buffers, orbital polishers, and hand polishing pads. Knowledge of polishing compounds, abrasives, and finishing products used on different surfaces. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality polishing results. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and operate polishing equipment for extended periods. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Certification or training in auto detailing, polishing, or a related field is a plus.
