As a Steward in Ernakulam, Kerala, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hospitality establishment. Your responsibilities will include assisting with food and beverage service, maintaining cleanliness and organization in dining areas, and providing excellent customer service to guests. Your attention to detail, professionalism, and dedication to guest satisfaction will contribute to the overall success of the establishment. Responsibilities: Set up dining areas, including tables, chairs, tableware, and linens, according to established standards and seating arrangements. Greet guests upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and present menus, specials, and promotions. Assist guests with menu selections, provide recommendations, and answer questions about food and beverage offerings. Take and accurately record food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are accommodated. Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff promptly and ensure timely delivery of food and drinks to guests. Monitor tables and anticipate guests' needs throughout their dining experience, including refilling beverages, clearing plates, and addressing any issues or concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas, including clearing tables, resetting tables, and ensuring proper disposal of waste. Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as garnishing dishes, assembling trays, and plating desserts, as needed. Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, and adhering to hygiene standards. Collaborate with other staff members, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff, to ensure seamless coordination of service. Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies, rotating stock, and minimizing waste. Uphold the establishment's policies and procedures, including dress code, grooming standards, and service guidelines. Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and reconcile receipts at the end of each shift. Provide friendly and attentive customer service, addressing guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally. Attend training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed about menu changes, service standards, and company policies. Requirements: Proven experience as a Steward, Waiter, or similar role in the hospitality industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues. Strong customer service orientation and a genuine desire to create positive experiences for guests. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain composure under pressure. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures, including table settings, order taking, and service etiquette. Basic math skills for handling payments and processing orders. Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in hospitality or food service is a plus.
