Overview: As a Security Officer at the travel agency premises in Ernakulam, Kerala, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of staff, customers, and assets. Your primary objective will be to maintain a secure environment through proactive monitoring, enforcement of security procedures, and prompt response to incidents. Your diligence and professionalism will contribute to the protection and well-being of all individuals within the travel agency. Responsibilities: Conduct regular patrols of the travel agency premises to monitor for any suspicious activities, unauthorized access attempts, or security breaches. Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to detect and respond to security threats in a timely manner. Greet and assist visitors, clients, and staff upon entry, ensuring proper identification and authorization for access to restricted areas. Enforce access control procedures, including verifying credentials, issuing visitor badges, and escorting individuals as necessary. Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or disturbances, such as alarms, disturbances, or medical emergencies, and take appropriate action to resolve the situation. Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed incident reports. Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders as needed to address security issues or criminal activities. Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, including incident reports, daily logs, and shift reports. Conduct routine inspections of security equipment, such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems, to ensure proper functioning and maintenance. Monitor and enforce adherence to security policies, procedures, and protocols by staff and visitors. Conduct security training and awareness programs for staff to enhance security awareness and preparedness. Assist in implementing security enhancements or upgrades to improve the overall security posture of the travel agency premises. Provide exceptional customer service to clients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment. Stay informed about security trends, threats, and best practices to continually enhance security operations. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall safety and security of the travel agency. Requirements: Proven experience as a Security Officer or similar role, preferably in a commercial or corporate setting. Thorough understanding of security principles, practices, and procedures. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations. Excellent observation skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, clients, and law enforcement personnel. Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Proficiency in using security equipment and technology, such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security operations. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications in security management or law enforcement are advantageous.
