We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Shawarma Maker to join our culinary team at our restaurant in Palakkad. As a Shawarma Maker, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling delicious shawarma wraps and plates, ensuring they meet our high standards of taste, quality, and presentation. This role requires expertise in Middle Eastern cuisine and a passion for creating flavorful dishes that delight our customers. Responsibilities: Prepare and marinate chicken, beef, or lamb for shawarma, ensuring proper seasoning and flavor infusion. Operate and maintain the shawarma grill or rotisserie, ensuring it is properly heated and maintained for cooking. Slice and layer marinated meat onto the shawarma grill or rotisserie, ensuring even cooking and optimal flavor. Prepare and assemble shawarma wraps or plates with a variety of accompaniments, such as pickles, garlic sauce, tahini, and vegetables. Grill or toast shawarma wraps or bread to perfection, ensuring a crispy and flavorful texture. Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of shawarma orders, maintaining consistency and quality. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling, storage, and preparation of ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shawarma station, equipment, and utensils. Train and mentor kitchen staff on shawarma preparation techniques, recipes, and presentation standards. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop new shawarma recipes, specials, and promotions. Stay updated on current trends and innovations in Middle Eastern cuisine, and incorporate new ideas into menu development and presentation. Handle any shawarma-related issues or emergencies that may arise, ensuring efficient resolution and minimal disruption to service. Perform administrative tasks, such as inventory management, scheduling, and cost control, to optimize shawarma station operations. Requirements: Proven experience as a Shawarma Maker or Shawarma Chef, preferably in a Middle Eastern restaurant or fast-food establishment. Strong knowledge of Middle Eastern culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques, especially in shawarma preparation. Creativity and passion for creating flavorful and authentic shawarma dishes. Excellent grilling skills, with the ability to cook meats to perfection and achieve desired levels of char and flavor. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Fluent in Malayalam; proficiency in English is an advantage. Certification or training in culinary arts and food safety and sanitation practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other team members. Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
