We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced South Indian Cook to join our culinary team at our restaurant in Palakkad. As a South Indian Cook, you will be responsible for preparing authentic and delicious South Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. Responsibilities: Prepare a variety of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, chutneys, and other regional specialties. Follow traditional recipes and cooking techniques to ensure the authentic taste and flavor of South Indian cuisine. Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and service of food orders, maintaining consistency and quality. Monitor food inventory levels and requisition supplies as needed to ensure freshness and availability of ingredients. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation of food products. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils. Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and costing as required. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on South Indian cooking techniques and recipes. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials. Adhere to kitchen policies and procedures, including portion control, waste reduction, and cost management. Stay updated on current trends and innovations in South Indian cuisine to enhance menu offerings and customer satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor. Requirements: Proven experience as a South Indian Cook or Chef in a restaurant or culinary establishment. Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Ability to prepare a wide range of South Indian dishes with authenticity and precision. Attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Fluent in Malayalam; proficiency in English is an advantage. Certification or training in food safety and sanitation is preferred. Creative flair and willingness to experiment with flavors and presentations. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
