They blend artistic vision with technical expertise to create products that align with current market trends, overseeing the entire production process from initial mood boards and fabric selection to final garment construction and fittings.Key ResponsibilitiesTrend Research & Concepting: Analyze retail trends, consumer preferences, and competitor data to define seasonal themes and mood boards.Design & Sketching: Translate creative ideas into tangible designs using hand sketches or Computer-Aided Design (CAD) programs.Material Sourcing: Select and evaluate fabrics, textures, colors, and trims for upcoming product lines while balancing aesthetics and cost.Prototyping & Fitting: Work closely with pattern makers and sample machinists to create prototypes.
