This includes greeting and seating guests, accurately taking and relaying food and beverage orders, serving meals promptly, handling bill payments, and maintaining a clean dining area throughout their shift.A waiter's daily duties are generally broken down into three main phases:1. Preparation & ServiceSetting the Stage: Preparing the dining area by arranging tables, wiping surfaces, and setting up linens and silverware before opening.Welcoming Guests: Greeting patrons warmly, guiding them to their tables, and presenting menus.Providing Recommendations: Sharing daily specials, explaining ingredients, answering dietary questions, and upselling appetizers or drinks.Taking Orders: Accurately recording orders and communicating any special instructions or allergies clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.Serving: Delivering food and beverages from the kitchen to the guests efficiently and ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.2. Guest Satisfaction & CommunicationChecking In: Anticipating guest needs and checking in during the meal to ensure satisfaction with their food and service.Handling Concerns: Addressing any complaints or issues professionally and promptly to ensure guests leave happy.Refilling & Clearing: Actively clearing dirty dishes and glasses, and refilling water glasses to maintain a neat dining environment.3.
