Job Description: The Electronics Technician will be responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic components and systems. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of electronics principles to ensure the quality and performance of our products. Responsibilities: Assembly: Assemble electronic components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions. Use hand tools, soldering equipment, and automated assembly machines to complete assembly tasks accurately and efficiently. Testing: Perform functional tests and quality checks on electronic components, circuit boards, and finished products to verify performance and adherence to specifications. Use test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and function generators, to conduct tests and troubleshoot issues. Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose electrical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools and techniques. Analyze circuit diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to determine root causes of malfunctions and implement corrective actions. Repair: Repair electronic devices and systems by replacing faulty components, soldering connections, and reworking circuit boards. Follow repair procedures and safety protocols to ensure proper repairs and compliance with quality standards. Calibration: Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments to maintain accuracy and reliability. Follow calibration procedures and documentation requirements to ensure traceability and compliance with regulatory standards. Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance tasks on electronic equipment and systems to prevent failures and ensure optimal performance. Clean, lubricate, and inspect components regularly to identify and address potential issues proactively. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly, testing, and repair activities, including test results, inspection reports, and maintenance logs. Document changes, modifications, and upgrades made to electronic systems for future reference and traceability. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling electronic equipment, tools, and hazardous materials. Follow proper procedures for handling, storage, and disposal of electronic components and chemicals to prevent accidents or injuries. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff to troubleshoot issues, implement design changes, and improve product quality and reliability. Share knowledge and expertise with team members to enhance overall performance and efficiency. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements in electronic manufacturing processes. Make recommendations for equipment upgrades, workflow optimizations, and training programs to support continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as an electronics technician or similar role in electronics manufacturing or repair. Strong understanding of electronics principles, circuit analysis, and troubleshooting techniques. Hands-on experience with electronic assembly, soldering, and testing procedures. Proficiency in using electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering stations. Familiarity with electronic components, circuit board assembly processes, and surface-mount technology (SMT) techniques.
