The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of automotive mechanics and market trends. Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive evaluations of pre-owned vehicles traded into the dealership, including inspecting the exterior, interior, engine, and mechanical components. Conduct test drives to assess vehicle performance, handling, and overall condition. Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to identify any mechanical issues or potential problems with the vehicle. Research market trends, vehicle pricing guides, and historical data to determine the fair market value of vehicles based on their make, model, year, and condition. Document evaluation findings, including photographs and detailed inspection reports, to accurately represent the condition of each vehicle. Communicate evaluation results to the sales team and management, providing recommendations for pricing, reconditioning, or disposition of trade-in vehicles. Collaborate with the sales and finance departments to negotiate trade-in values and assist customers with vehicle appraisal inquiries. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive industry trends, new vehicle features, and market demand for various makes and models. Ensure compliance with dealership policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements governing vehicle evaluations and sales transactions. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer concerns and inquiries regarding vehicle evaluations in a professional and courteous manner. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as a Car Evaluator, Automotive Technician, or similar role, with a strong background in vehicle inspection and evaluation. In-depth knowledge of automotive mechanics, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques. Familiarity with vehicle appraisal tools, valuation guides, and market analysis resources. Excellent attention to detail and observational skills, with the ability to identify even minor defects or issues. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make accurate assessments and pricing recommendations. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences. Proficiency in using computer software and applications for data analysis, documentation, and report generation.
